From the halls of my elementary school in New Orleans, LA, where the dream of teaching first took root, to the dynamic landscapes of global classrooms, I’ve been on an unwavering quest to ignite learning and facilitate transformative experiences. 

As I reflect on the journey of my professional life, vivid scenes come to mind, each leaving an indelible mark on my path. I recall the vibrant energy of public squares like La Plaza de la Puerta del Sol in Madrid, Spain, where I honed my skills in teaching English as a foreign language. Then, the memories of engaging with my Italian exchange students echo through the classrooms at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY. And amidst the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, I can still savor the taste of warm chicken phở, surrounded by the symphony of ‘moto bikes’ whizzing by before teaching weekend English classes to teenagers. Fast forward a few years and I think of my wonderful students set against the backdrop of beautiful beaches and the rich culture of Florianópolis, Brazil. These experiences led me back to my current home in Tampa Bay, FL, where I had the privilege of teaching culturally diverse students from multiple countries at The University of Tampa. Each encounter reaffirmed my long held belief. There is a transformative power in learning and the sharing and transfer of knowledge can leave a profound impact.

Fueling my passion further, a deep curiosity for technology and its role in enhancing learning experiences propelled me towards a Master’s in Instructional Design and Technology. This academic pursuit empowered me to explore the intricate dynamics of how people learn and I was able to integrate the use of technology to improve learners’ goals.

Over the span of 12 enriching years, my journey has traversed diverse fields, from serving as a dedicated student to assuming leadership roles across industries as varied as the Department of Defense to pioneering edTech startups.
